OUR STORY - WORLD OF SCENTS!

In the 1990’s, Mark Jordan spent three years playing football around the world visiting some truly amazing cities, each offering spectacular sights and sounds.

It was, however, the unique smell of each location that had the most impact on him.  So much so, that he spent the next few years wondering how he could re-create the aroma and, therefore, re-live the experience.

On returning back to the U.K. after working 10 years in the Channel Islands, Mark found himself as a single dad. Then in 2012, something happened that would make this early dream come true...Aroma Holiday – World of scents was born. 

 

REASON BEHIND THE BRAND?

Aroma Holiday was officially launched in January 2014 with just five scented candles (we now have 18) all hand crafted on my kitchen table. In just two years I had turned a ‘light-bulb moment’ into a fully-fledged business.

The flash of inspiration came about while looking for a scented candle, as a gift for my new wife.  Despite being surrounded by them in the Store, I could not find one that ‘meant something’ and so I went home empty handed but with an idea buzzing in my head.

What if I could create a scented candle that would remind us of our travels around the world?

I had no idea how I was going to achieve this. I just knew that I had to find a way of recreating memories of far flung places. I also understood that with smell being the most evocative of all our senses, the key to my success would be in creating a luxury scented product that ‘meant something’ to the owner.

A LITTLE BACKGROUND?

After spending three years footballing around the world, Mark joined Britain’s oldest department store, Voisin’s, in St Helier, Jersey as a buyer / manager. Renowned for stocking exclusive luxury brands such as Gucci, Chanel and Michael Kors. His time there along with the passion for design and art were undoubtedly catalysts for the creation of Aroma Holiday.

MARK EXPLAINS…

There’s nothing more welcoming than walking into a home filled with a gorgeous fragrance. Whether it’s a delicate floral, zesty citrus or rich earthy scents. The way a room smells has the power to transform the whole atmosphere and evoke strong, heartfelt personal emotions within people.

Since having a family, I’ve had to rein in those carefree days of exploring the world. But with Aroma Holiday, I can enjoy the sense of being transported to a special destination without leaving the comfort of my own home.

THE POWER OF SCENT!

I believe that the sense of smell is the most evocative of all our senses, recreating moods, emotions and also experiences. I knew that people can be transported through time and space by simply smelling a particular fragrance, so we have created a range of scents that do just that. Holiday's are the times when we are most relaxed and stress-free. What better way to recreate that mood than with a beautiful luxury scented product?

WHAT NOW?

The brand is about to go truly global. Products can now be bought on-line and shipped throughout the world. Our AH brand is also looking to increase retail distribution, especially in outlets such as duty free shopping, luxury hotels and travel company loyalty gifts etc.

Aroma Holiday intends to diversify the product range to include room sprays, oil diffusers and cosmetics etc. Watch this space.

(Visiting Singapore, New Zealand, Australia & Hong Kong in 2006! Global Travel with a Toddler...what could be more relaxing than that???)
