Spread the reeds out as much as possible to let air circulate between them. Allow up to 24 hours for the fragrance to diffuse or when the reeds are soaked through. Flip the reeds periodically, such as once a week to keep the scent strong. Replace reeds when you refill the liquid (every 6 months).

The diffuser is best positioned in the center of the room so that when people pass by, the air moves and the scent circulates. Thus, for larger rooms, have two positioned on the opposite ends of the room.

Do not place the diffuser on polished, varnished, or painted surfaces, on electrical equipment, or near/over sources of heat such as a radiator.
