Tokyo – Orchid, Cedar & Cherry.
Words summing up this city of contradiction – beauty, peace, health, crazy, traditional & spiritual… that’s Tokyo!
A personal favourite, the structure dominating the entrance to the Sensoji Temple – the kaminari-mon or “Thunder Gate”.
Yet unexpectedly, Tokyo conjured up floral Spring time, the smell of Wild Orchids (Sekkoku), transports me back to the Omotesando Trail up Mount Takao where they were in bloom, lodged in tress, looking as if the cedars themselves were flowering. Escaping the busy urban centre, I loved strolling through Shinjuku Gyoen Park, sitting and gazing upon the tranquil cherry blossoms swaying in the Asian breeze.
